How Frontline Fire Protection Services Started…

When Vlad Reyes, Master Electrician, was at another site trouble-shooting a company’s electrical problems, he overheard one of the employees complaining about the time he got to spend on bringing fire extinguishers to the local fire protection company for service. Moreover, he also had to spend time tracking all the fire extinguishers and fire alarm deadlines while he had other more important duties to do.

That gave Vlad an idea.

What if instead of a company’s employees tracking and scheduling the fire protection services’ deadlines, the fire protection services company would keep track of all the deadlines and schedule the necessary service FOR them?

This would allow businesses to focus on other profit-generating activities and at the same time eliminate the risk of losses should the deadlines are missed.

It would also eliminate the risk of possible losses in case of fire and not having the equipment ready to fight it.

Besides Vlad started his career back in the 1990s as a fire alarm technician in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. So he already had all the necessary insights, knowledge and training to make his new dream happen.

So one day he decided to throw this idea to his boss DJ Barbarich who already had a few successful businesses including “Prodigy Tech Group Inc.” where Vlad worked.

“Yes, let’s do it!” - said DJ.

Next, they needed clients.

Both Vlad and DJ started to share their mission with their current Prodigy Tech Group clients.

Their original goal was to get at least a few companies on board to get them started.

By the end of month 3, they doubled their goal.

It became clear that just like that company where Vlad overheard one of the employees complaining, other companies LOVED the idea of a fire protection company that would take care of all their fire protection needs without spending any time from their main profit-generating activities.

Meet Our Co-Founders

Vladimir Reyes, Co-founder

I live in Grande Prairie, Alberta with my beautiful wife and four kids. My love for working and helping others reach their goals woke up my entrepreneurial side. Before I co-founded Fire Protection Services I was working for Prodigy Tech Group as an electrician specializing in the full spectrum of electrical services (industrial, commercial and residential). I also run my own commercial and residential electrical services company helping our local community to feel safe in their buildings by providing the full spectrum of electrical services and keeping all their electrical needs up to the Electrical Code.

DJ Barbarich, Co-founder

I live in Rycroft, Alberta with my gorgeous wife and 3 kids. I graduated from NAIT as an Instrumentation Engineering Technologist in 1997 earning my Certified Engineering Technologist status from ASET in 2002. Became a Journeyman Instrumentation Tech in 2000 and a Journeyman Electrician in 2004. Started my first contracting company for the energy sector in 2005 and partnered to found Prodigy Tech Group Inc. in 2010 with a focus on 24/7 customer service at competitive rates using the leading local tradesmen.
